An Access Database is available on demand.
If you have any comments or suggestions
we'd be glad to hear them.
If you are new to Data Models, this page of my new Tutorial will help you understand the Data Model.
Gartner Research announced its "10 Strategic Technologies" for 2011.
One of them is Ubiquitous Computing, and two more are Cloud Computing and Mobile Applications.
All three are relevant to our work on the future of Ubiquitous Data.
We have also created an Artefacts Data Model, following Specifications derived from discussions in Cairo with Dr. Mohamed El-Helw and a review of the Ubiquitous Data Project at Nile University in Cairo, Egypt.
There is also a design for a Data Mart, which is very useful for providng data for Reports and Business Intelligence.
In February, 2011 we added the Denodo Platform Architecture
and the FSA Common Data Model.
Current interest in Data Virtualisation is a major step forward to the Ubiquitous Data.
Wikipedia defines it in these terms :-
Data virtualization is the process of abstraction of data contained within a variety of information sources
such as relational databases, data sources exposed through web services, XML repositories and others so that they may
be accessed without regard to their physical storage or heterogeneous structure.
This concept and software is commonly used within data integration, master data management, cloud computing, business
intelligence systems and enterprise search.
Another step forward is Federated Databases, which Wikipedia describes as :-
A federated database system transparently integrates multiple autonomous database systems into a single federated database.
Through data abstraction, federated database systems can provide a uniform user interface, enabling users and clients to store and retrieve data in multiple noncontiguous databases with a single query -- even if the constituent databases are heterogeneous.
Because various database management systems employ different query languages, federated database systems can apply wrappers to the subqueries to translate them into the appropriate query languages.
IBM have invested heavily in Federated Databses.
